$1.82 Million for ZS2 Made-in-Canada Magnesium Cement Boards
Earlier this month, ZS2 Technologies secured a $1.82M grant from NGen to manufacture low-carbon cement building materials in Alberta. The funding from NGen will support the construction of a magnesium cement product manufacturing facility with the goal of ultimately producing carbon-negative building materials to decarbonize the construction industry in Canada and around the world.
We’re not doing this alone. The funding comes as part of a combined $2.76 million to ZS2 and our strategic research and development partners Progressive Planet, LithiumBank, Occam’s Technologies and Falkbuilt under the Advanced Manufacturing Projects program. As part of this funding program, 15 new advanced manufacturing projects were announced at the N3 Summit on February 8 2024. The N3 Summit brought together leaders from across Canada to explore what’s new, now, and next in advanced manufacturing and ZS2 was a featured exhibitor! Our CEO Scott, CTO Doug and VP of Business Development John were in attendance and had the opportunity celebrate the announcement in person alongside NGen.
Triple The Press. Triple The Capacity.
Our manufacturing center has been working around the clock to commission our new triple shift press line. In simple terms, 3.5x capacity at 1x labour cost, this line is going to supercharge our production capacity to deliver projects across North America. Locally sourced with a modular, plug-and-play design, it’s set to grow and evolve as fast as we do.
ZS2 is Expanding
Decarbonizing the construction industry takes a village. Humbly, we think we have the best village. Whether fostering innovation internally or partnering with diverse organizations, our collective efforts create a ripple effect across the entire system. We continue to grow our research partners, TechPartners and internal ZS2 TechCrew to build a network of expertise across North America.
In January we welcomed the addition of Peter Myers, former BMO Global Head of Investment & Corporate Banking to our Board of Directors.
Our Director of Research and Development Danny Wong Ph.D. and Co-Founder and COO Kristin Davis kicked off the 1st of 3 Workshops with Saint-Gobain at Greentown Labs for Go Build 2023. This is part of a six-month program working closely with Saint-Gobain to explore potential collaborations, including investment opportunities, development partnerships, and commercial agreements.
