ZS2 Shortlisted in CMHC’s Housing Supply Challenge as part of Federal Government's National Housing Strategy!

ZS2 has been shortlisted in Round 4 of Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Housing Supply Challenge. This stage ‘Building for the Future’ comes with $150,000 in incubation funding. Our solution entitled “Carbonated magnesium cements from salt water: A pathway to carbon negative alternative cements cast into highly resilient building envelope panels” was one of only two solutions in the “New Materials” category.

The challenge prioritizes solutions that accelerate the creation and preservation of housing that is affordable, climate compatible and meets people’s needs. $300 million in funding will be awarded over 5 years.

Decarbonizing the Construction Industry

Transformation is the DNA of a startup. Growth is the playbook. Since our inception, ZS2 Technologies has continued to evolve but always with deference to our original intent – build a better planet. Alongside our partners, together we’re building a better planet by decarbonizing the construction industry.

Our solutions range from manufacturing advanced building materials to developing carbon-neutral cement with CCUS technology. Our foundation is science, but our steadfast focus remains on clean technology innovation.

In celebration of Zero Emissions Day—a global day of action to collectively  reflect on our energy habits and accelerate the journey to decarbonization—we rolled out a new look and chapter for our brand and ZS2 story.

Earlier this year,  a groundbreaking partnership formed between Habitat for Humanity and our TechPartner, Advanced Building Technology Inc.

The Eureka Oaks Community project will use both ZS2’s TechPanels and TechBoard to build more resilient, highly efficient, and sustainable living solutions to the wildfire-prone region.

Our TechPartner in California, Advanced Building Technology Inc. has made significant progress in Angels Camp to demonstrate the speed, efficiency and final product that Habitat for Humanity can look forward to.  At 3000 sq ft the project took only three days to construct the exterior walls.

Stay tuned for an ABC 10 Exclusive Interview with our very own co-founder and CTO Doug Brown, Advanced Building Technologies project manager Daniel Hopkins and the team from Habitat for Humanity Calaveras filmed at the Angels Camp project!
